Why Serve, Why Exuma and more about us.
CIC Dance Company created this video from their mission trip with us in Exuma.
During 2014, the Lord prompted us to dig deeper in our relationship with him. He led us to places in the word that we had never been. Through a series of powerful Holy Spirit led studies, we discovered the small island of Exuma. Without ever hearing or knowing anything about this country, we took a leap of faith, and booked a flight to the island. We leaned into the heart of God and intently looked and listened to the things he wanted to share with us. During our visit we discovered a huge need for spiritual resources along with many physical ones. We discovered a country with a need for more people to become the hands and feet of Jesus. In God’s perfect timing, he connected us with a small church on the island name Relevant Kingdom Center. This tiny piece of the island carries such a desire for the truth to be spread among the people of Exuma and we knew instantly that God wanted us to be a part of his work there. Our hearts increasingly grew burdened for the people there and over time we took another huge leap of faith. With obedience, we have committed to serving the people of Exuma in any way, shape, or form that God desires. We are working alongside our church Crossgates, Relevant Kingdom, and Global Outreach. Our partnership with them has opened the gates for bigger God breathed opportunities. Our plans include a women and children’s orphanage that Exuma Foundation has funded and currently building. We are also focused on bringing Christ centered after school programs to the children through art, bible studies, and community service. Recently God burdened my soul specifically for the young men of Exuma and opened a way for 9 Innings Baseball ministry to exist for His glory. We know that God will train up this generation of young boys to be mighty warriors for Christ. We hope to also bring out their God given talents through baseball and dreams to play ball at any level....even the island's first MLB player. However, our primary focus on or off the field is discipleship and sharing the truth in love about the gospel of Jesus Christ!
Matthew 19:13-15 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.
For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is not the one who reclines? But I am among you as the One who serves.
